Lesson 13: The Hammerlock

For those of you who want to begin your first dance with a more elaborate entrance, this is the intro variation that you should learn! This variation can also be used in the middle of your dance as a awesome highlight.

Don't Forget ...

  • Leader, before you lead your partner into the hammerlock position, remember to turn your partner first before you rotate your body.

  • Make sure to relax your arms and fingers to allow a smoother rotation into the hammerlock position. Leader, remember to keep your hands low (in front of your waist and your partner's lower back).
