Learning the Steps

After learning all of the essential dance elements, you are now ready to learn the important steps in the choreography! After practicing the steps below, you can move on to the last section of the program, in which we will show you how to connect the steps. Have fun dancing!

Learning the Choreography

Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Dance Demo - Full Body

Written Instruction

Intro - 

  • Leader walks forward

  • Turns around to motion for follower

  • Follower walks and meets hands with leader

  • Walk around into closed frame

Verse 1 -

  • Two rotating box steps

  • Underarm turn

Chorus -

  • Smooth swing basic

  • Outside to inside turn, reconnect hands immediately

  • Cradle, frisbee ending

  • Back into cradle

  • Lean

  • Unwind into closed frame

Verse 2 -

  • One rotating box

  • One rotating box with inside turn

  • Underarm turn with inside turn

Repeat Chorus until 2nd Cradle

2nd Cradle becomes an inside turn which brings into a side-by-side position

Bridge -

  • Follower goes cross right, tap left, cross right, tap left, cross right & spin

  • Leader repeats crossing left, tap right, cross left, tap right, cross left & spin

  • Follower and leader cross tap twice towards each other (follower start right, leader start left)

  • Connect arms and both step back (follower, right - leader, left)

  • Move into a double face loop position

  • Step away from each other and let arms come down into hand hold

  • Walk in circle

  • Leader takes follower into an inside turn, switch follower’s left hand so leader is now holding the right hand in their left

  • Both step left, step together, step left, tap right

  • Both step right, step together, step right, tap left

  • Follower free spin into dance frame

Repeat Verse 2

Repeat Chorus with the lean, spin-out

Option free-styling at the end after final spin-out
