Ready to dance? Start with the essential dance elements below.
Learning the Steps
After learning all of the essential dance elements, you are now ready to learn the important steps in the choreography! After practicing the steps below, you can move on to the last section of the program, in which we will show you how to connect the steps. Have fun dancing!
Learning the Choreography
Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

WRITTEN INSTRUCTION
Intro -
Walk in circle, right hands together
Once follower is facing back, step out
Pull in, follower’s arm goes across as they turn 180
Two counter clockwise spins with the right hand
2 sways on “deep blue”, into dip on “ocean”
Open into open Corte looking away from each other
Look at each other “oh my”
Outside spin into frame
Verse 1 -
Box
Underarm turn into butterfly with grapevine addition
Duo turn
Swing -
Basic
Double turn (inside turn w/ leader’s under arm turn)
Waist roll
Continuous
Outside-Cradle, frisbee
Basic
Leader’s wrap-inside
Leader’s wrap-cradle
Spin in cradle circle
Spin out
Double counterclockwise spin on “wi-i-i-ll”
Rep. Swing Pattern until basic
Add another basic, then use that frame to get into foxtrot
Rep. Verse 1
Add 3 LRT (last one has spin)
Helicopter
Bring hands down to two hand
Leader brings hands up to hug
Sways in hug position
Ending -
Rep. Swing Pattern until cradle circle
Sways in closed position
Leader walks around follower, connect left arms
Leader brings follower’s left arm up to trace their face (a la Dirty Dancing)
