First Dance Routine to “Beautiful Crazy”

Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Dance Demo - Wide Shot

Intro (2 sets of 8 + 4 counts)

Walk on to the dance floor (8 counts)

Walk in circle (1, 2, 3, 4)

Outside turn to side by side pos. (5, 6)

High five (7, 8) , roll into dance pos. (1, 2) Sway (3, 4)


Dance Pattern 1 (2 sets of 8)

Rotating Box

UAT

(Fast) Send out (1), inside turn to dip (2,3), outside turn to shadow position (4 counts)


Chorus (3 sets of 8)

Side hesitation pattern in shadow position 

1 set of progressive (in shadow position)

Sway (LRL with follower’s arm), Follower turns right to face leader

Slide rock step and dip to the right

Double right turn to dance position


Dance Pattern 2 (2 sets of 8)

Rotating Box

Butterfly with inside turn ending


Chorus (3 sets of 8)

Repeat 


Highlight (2 sets of 8)

2 Smooth Swing Basic

Waist Roll

Shadow (end in cross hand hold)

Follower’s left turn to leader’s face loop (cue: “for her”)

Pause and kiss (2 counts - very quiet)


Transition (1 set of 8) (music slows down)

Sway x 4 and rotate clockwise

Promenade with double turn (end in shadow pos)


Chorus - short  (2 sets of 8)

1 set of progressive (in shadow position)

Sway (LRL), Follower turns to face leader

5th position (1) and dip

Double right turn to side by side position



Ending Pattern (1 set of 8 + 4 counts) 

Walk in circle (1, 2, 3, 4) (start on “me”)

Outside turn to side by side pos. (5, 6)

High five (7, 8) , roll into lean (follower face back, right hand on leader’s neck) (1, 2, 3, 4)


Follower brings left arm up at the very last note
