“In Case You Didn’t Know” Wedding Dance

Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Connecting All Steps + After Lift Transition

Dance Demo - Full Body

 

Written Instruction

Intro (2 sets of 8)

  • Walk for 4 counts

  • Spin into shadow position

  • Sway left, right

  • Follower right double turn into the left corner of the dance floor, end in closed position 

Foxtrot Pattern (4 sets of 8) - 

  • 2 left rock turns

  • Basic

  • Left rock turn with outside turn

  • 2 left rock turns

  • Basic

  • Left rock turn with outside turn, open up into side by side position

Transition 1 (2 sets of 8)

  • Follower spin into cradle position

  • Lean

  • Stay connected to unwind, reverse cradle position on leader’s left side

  • Slow wind up (weight shift to right foot for both leader and follower), unwind

Swing Pattern (4 sets of 8) -

  • Basic

  • Outside turn to inside turn

  • Waist roll to inside turn

  • Basic

  • Hammerlock 

  • Leader lassos follower

  • Circle dip

  • 2 sways in closed position

Repeat Foxtrot pattern 

Transition 2 (2 sets of 8) -

  • Leader’s wrap into cradle position

  • Stay connected to unwind, reverse cradle position on leader’s left side

  • Slow wind up (weight shift to right foot for both leader and follower), unwind

Repeat Swing Pattern *Only until the leader’s lasso*

Bridge Pattern (2 ½ sets of 8) -

  • 2 two-step basics

  • Follower’s outside half turn into shadow position

  • 3 two-step basics in shadow position

  • Spin out from shadow position


Ending Pattern (6 ½ sets of 8) -

  • Spiral lift, follower’s legs are straight

  • Slowly come down

  • 2 sways, follower’s arms go up one at a time starting with the right

  • Follower double free spin, leader follows 

  • Repeat swing pattern all the way through

  • After the final sways, sink into a slow dip
