Learning the Steps
After learning all of the essential dance elements, you are now ready to learn the important steps in the choreography! After practicing the steps below, you can move on to the last section of the program, in which we will show you how to connect the steps. Have fun dancing!
Learning the Choreography
Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Intro (2 counts of 8) -
Leader and follower walk towards each other from opposite sides of the floor
Leader takes follower’s right hand in their right
Lasso the follower around for 6 counts; leader’s face loop for 7,8 to get into frame
Rumba Pattern (4 counts of 8) -
Box step
Underarm turn
Inside turn
Box step
Transition 1 (2 counts of 8) -
Half basic to cradle
Lean in cradle position for 4 counts
Roll follower out with additional outside turn (leader’s right hand) for 5, 6, 7, 8
Chorus Pattern (6 counts of 8) -
Smooth swing basic
Cradle
Typewriter (transition from cradle to shadow position)
Half counterclockwise turn for the follower to cross hand position
Leader’s face loop
Half slow dance basic to inside turn
Hammerlock (half basic) to slow walk
Leader lasso’s the follower back into frame for a full 8
Repeat Rumba Pattern
Repeat Chorus Pattern (don’t come back into frame at the end)
Highlight (2 counts of 8) -
Leader rolls past follower and brings follower in for a side lean
Come up, double counterclockwise turn to leader’s face loop, two sways to get back into two hand hold

Follower rolls into leader for final dip
