Learning the Steps
After learning all of the essential dance elements, you are now ready to learn the important steps in the choreography! After practicing the steps below, you can move on to the last section of the program, in which we will show you how to connect the steps. Have fun dancing!
Learning the Choreography
Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Intro (2 sets of 8) -
Leader brings follower onto the floor
Right hand comes up and over followers head, follower walks under
Stand in front of each other, follower steps into leader
Pattern 1 (4 sets of 8) -
Slow dance basic
Cradle to cradle circle
Roll out of cradle
Four steps forward for both leader and follower
Switch hands, walk back four steps towards back of floor
Side by side
Transition 1 (2 sets of 8) -
Leader’s face loop
Bring follower around to face front
Dip on leader’s right side
Inside turn to cradle position
Pattern 2 (6 sets of 8) -
Lean
Wind up, unwind from cradle
Leader switches hands, clockwise turn for follower
Leader goes under arms, stops in shadow position
Bring follower back around, two clockwise spins
The Whip
2 West coast swing basics to push out
Inside turn to frame
Pattern 3 (4 sets of 8) -
Yin yang
Slow dance half basic to shadow
Forward basic in shadow
Transition 2 (2 sets of 8) -
Wind up follower, spin out still in cross hand hold
Inside turn for follower, leader catches follower’s left shoulder
Double clockwise turn, leader holds on and stays with follower
Continuous rock to roll out, side by side
Spin into cradle
Repeat Pattern 2
Repeat Pattern 1
Repeat Transition 1 sans dip
Follower continues from leader’s left side to right side
Quick inside turn to cradle

Inside turn takes you into final dip
