Here you will find all of the tools for putting together your first dance! We suggest learning the individual steps first, then using the breakdown video to piece the moves together section by section. Begin practicing without music, then incorporate music as you get more comfortable with the steps. The written instructions for your dance are at the bottom of this page for easy reviewing. Package 1

Slow Dance Pattern 1 (3 sets of 8):

  • Walk in from opposite sides, catch right hands and get into hug frame

  • 1 Slow Dance Basics

  • Follower’s Right Turn and Leader’s Right Turn after

Slow Fox Pattern 1 (4 sets of 8)

  • 1 Slow Fox Basic

  • 2 Left Rock Turns

  • 1 Slow Fox Basic

  • 2 Left Rock Turns

  • 1 Slow Fox Basic

  • Follower turns clockwise under leader’s arm to get into hammerlock position

Transition 1 (4 sets of 8)

  • Walk clockwise for one 8 count

  • Follower does an inside turn out of hammerlock, and another inside turn into cradle

  • Lean and come up in cradle for 8

  • Follower spins out for 4, leader spins clockwise to get into frame with follower

Slow Dance Pattern 2 (4 sets of 8)

  • 2 Slow Dance Basics

  • Follower’s Right Turn and Leader’s Right Turn after

  • ½ of a Slow Dance Basic then follower spins counterclockwise into the neck hold position

Highlight (4 sets of 8)

  • Walk around for 12 counts

  • Follower shifts clockwise to face front and get into lean position

  • Lean and come up for 8

  • Sway Left for 4 then Sway Right for 4 to get into shadow

Outro (4 sets of 8)

  • Step touch six times for 12 counts

  • Follower rotates counterclockwise to face Leader and get into hug frame

  • 2 Left Rock Turns to face front

  • Push out, inside turn, dip
