Here you will find all of the steps in your first dance! To learn this choreography, we suggest learning section by section, practicing without music, then incorporating music as you get more comfortable with the steps. Package 3 | 9-11 Dance Moves

Intro (2 counts of 8) -

  • Walk onto the floor hand in hand for a full 8

  • Leader’s face loop on 1, 2, 3, 4, free spin follower in for 5, 6, 7, 8


Slow Foxtrot Pattern (2 counts of 8) -

  • Slow foxtrot basic

  • Left rock turn

  • Zig Zag


Chorus (4 counts of 8) -

  • Double outside turn for the follower (in place, leader switches hand) on 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Leader goes under their left arm and get into reverse shadow on 5, 6, 7, 8

  • Walk around the leader to face front again on 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Leader continues to bring the follower in front, 5, 6, outside turn 7, 8 (leader switch the hand again) until we’re in side by side

  • Spin in on 1, 2, dip on ‘and 3’, 4 (lyrics: “…sun goes down”) 

  • Come up and sway on 5, 6, and 7, 8

  • Rotating arabesque for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, quick outside turn on 7, 8


Repeat Slow Foxtrot


Transition (2 counts of 8) -

  • 2 Box steps

  • 5th Position break with underarm turn


Repeat the Chorus


Highlight (3 counts of 8) -

  • Spiral lift after rotating arabesque for a full 8 

  • 2nd Position breaks with follower crossing in front of leader for a full 8

  • Stay in open arm position and circle for 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Repeat chorus outside turn to side by side for 5, 6

  • Follower runs into assisted jump for 7, 8


Swing Pattern (4 counts of 8) -

  • 2 Basics

  • Outside to inside turn

  • Basic

  • Cradle (don’t do rock step!)

  • Lean with optional follower arm styling

  • Roll out to side by side on 6, 7, 8

  • Follower walks in front to meet leader in frame

  • Tango lift on 5, 6, 7, 8


Ending Pattern (~2 counts of 8) -

  • Helicopter in two hand hold

  • Get into the cradle on ‘i’ll always remember us…’ (perfect moment for a kiss!)

  • Final dip on ‘...this way’ and hold for 3-5 seconds
