Learning the Steps
After learning all of the essential dance elements, you are now ready to learn the important steps in the choreography! After practicing the steps below, you can move on to the last section of the program, in which we will show you how to connect the steps. Have fun dancing!
Learning the Choreography
Now, let’s put all of the steps you’ve learned together into this lovely routine! To learn the routine, we suggest you learn it in sections. Practice each section without music first and then with music. Also, watch the demo video and use the written instruction listed below for musical cues. Have fun!

Intro (1 count of 8) -
Walk in towards each other from opposite sides of the floor for 4 counts
Circle each other on 5, 6
Leader lifts follower’s right arm on 7; gets into lean position and takes left hand on 8
Pattern 1 (2 counts of 8) -
Lean for ~3 counts (optional: follower’s arm styling on 2)
Come up on 3, clockwise turn on 4 to get into close embrace
2 Forward hesitations on 5, 6, and 7, 8 in close embrace

Pattern 2 (2 counts of 8) -
Progressive
Underarm turn (modified to a two way underarm turn)
Pattern 3 (2 counts of 8) -
Smooth swing basic
Leader’s wrap
Smooth swing basic (but don’t separate at the end)
Follower’s double inside turn

Waist roll

Come together into helicopter position; helicopter on 7, 8
Pattern 4 (2 counts of 8) -
Double counterclockwise turn to get into modified hammerlock position
Left arms for both leader and follower come up and meet overhead
Two forward hesitations in this position
Box in this position
Follower unwraps to cross hand position
Both arms go up and over the leader’s head to get back into frame

Quick outside turn to repeat Pattern 3 again
